Receive your game news
The gaming industry is a large multimillion-dollar sector per year with the world economy. There are game console manufacturers, game designers, retail outlets and so many new technology innovations happening so fast that it's impossible to keep up with everything.
There is great media coverage of the various players in the gaming industry. This is not surprising as there are so many devoted fans of the various consoles and so many fans of the games that they enjoy playing new games and updated versions of older games.
It's really easy to start researching the Internet sources for news from the gaming industry. To start, you can search any search engine for "game news" or a similar search term. The problem with this approach is that it returns so many results on the list that it is very slow to look at more than a few sites that way.
Below is a short list of five sites where you can start researching gaming news, perhaps with a site that suits your style or special interests.
Gametab shows recent news articles from a wide range of game news sites. The categories are the various sites themselves. You can find lists of the latest releases and the latest news, reviews by platform, and you can join their forums.
N4G is a good source for various news from different sources, categorized in an orderly way so you can easily concentrate on Xbox 360, PS3, Wii or other console or platform. They also have categories for industry news, development news, technology and the latest news of the week games news website.
Joystiq is a site that offers news in the style of a blog, so it has a more relaxed and personal feel than some of the other news sites. The focus is mainly on the games themselves, and the publications are classified in a fairly applicable form through a specific platform menu.
1up covers news and gossip and is constantly updated. The focus is mainly on news related to the gaming company. However, you can also find a wide variety of video game reviews and previews on your site. One way to keep up with the next games is to check out their "Starting Centers" section. And a cheat section might be of interest to those who want to find some shortcuts to games.
Gamesarefun (or GAF) is a news site that does not provide updates as often as some of the others. However, an interesting feature is a video game database. This is not a complete list of all the games made, but it can certainly help you find some details about a game you have been thinking about for a while. GAF also has a section of tricks and forums for you to browse.
That's the short list. There are certainly many more game news sites and they are easy to find using the method described above. So search these sites for your "game news event" and have fun reading.
